Vekka
Vekka
Vekka is an Umbrir of immense age — millennia old — and the central antagonist driving the northern demigod conflict. Unlike his kind, who hold oaths of non-interference with developing worlds, Vekka broke those oaths entirely, aligning himself with Victor Cran and steering Camp Mythborn south toward Georgia with the goal of dominating Earth.
Appearance
Vekka shares the typical Umbrir appearance — pale scales, dark winged, four wings, and black hair. His eyes are a deep violet, described as burning darkly. He speaks in a low, sharp tone, words precise and cutting, like a dagger. His presence alone is enough to instill fear in those around him.
Personality
Vekka rules entirely through terror. He has little patience for failure, incompetence, or anything he perceives as weakness. He openly belittles Victor Cran, whom he views as a useful but flawed instrument. He believes he could accomplish his goals alone, and only works with others out of convenience.
He drip-feeds information to those beneath him, keeping them dependent and off-balance. Despite his contempt for Victor's methods, he needs him — Vekka's goal is planetary domination, and the northern demigods are his means to that end.
Role in the Story
Vekka's betrayal of the Umbrir oaths is the inciting event for Kal and Karthas being sent to Earth. By the time the story begins, he has already embedded himself with Victor Cran in the north and is pushing the Mythborn army southward. He communicates with Victor sporadically, appearing and vanishing without warning, answering to no one.
His actions are considered a profound disgrace among the Umbrir.
