The only living son of Syla, Jack grew up at Camp Mythborn alongside the Amber twins, whom he has known since childhood. His eighteenth birthday is a touchy subject — being the sole child of his divine parent left his childhood in camp unusual. As a boy he received lashings, and developed a spy persona he called "Agent J." He is quiet, capable, and has grown increasingly hardened by the collapse.

As a grandson of Nephel (Sea), Jack's cousins would be considered minor demigods, though Jack himself does not inherit Nephel's powers directly. His Syla powers manifest as ice-cold air, clouds of darkness, and oppressive silence — consistent with Syla's moon and darkness domain.
Relationships
- Charlie Amber — His girlfriend, killed around ch. 17–18. Her death hits him deeply.
- Raven Amber — Charlie's twin. The two have grown much closer in the aftermath of Charlie's death.
- Amber Twins — Lifelong friends since childhood. The three were inseparable.
